Previously John served as chair and board member of Faulkner Hospital (now Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital) and is a trustee and former president of The Boston Home, Inc., an independent long-term care facility. At ESC, John has provided consulting services to nonprofit organizations including English for New Bostonians, METCO, Scandinavian Living Center, Spina Bifida Association of Greater New England, and the US Green Building Council of Massachusetts.
John says, “When I joined ESC in 2004 I thought that it would be an opportunity to share some of my many years of experience as a nonprofit board member with other non-profits. While I believe I have been able to draw from that personal experience, I have learned much more about nonprofits through my work as an ESC consultant, which I am able to use in consulting with our clients. Each and every project is different and we learn as much as we help.”
Prior to joining ESC, John was Of Counsel at Dane & Howe and previously with the law firms of Powers & Hall, LLC and Ropes & Gray. He also served in the US Marine Corps as an infantry officer.
John earned his AB at Harvard College and JD at Boston College Law School.
